A tragedy story that cries all the human being all around the world.

Deep blue sea is the boundary for all the fantastic landscapes all around the world. The beauty of the fish pond is difficult to describe in words indeed. But, on 26 of December 2004. It was wicked against civilians in several Asian countries. Over 60,000 people were passed away when an earthquake in the Indian Ocean measures 9.0 on the Richter scale sent huge waves called “tsunami” crashing in to several Asian countries. The worst countries affected by “tsunami” were India, srilanka, Thailand, Indonesia etc...
During the rein of king “Kawanthissa” the sea was flooded in to the country crashing everything and so many human beings were passed away. To rescue the civilians the king sacrificed her daughter by floating her in to the sea in a huge sailing boat. Some beliefs this story exactly a myth or legend in history of srilanka. But ancient Ceylon script and palm books support this belief. So, we have to accept this miraculous incident though we are in 20 th centaury now. This was a real tragically happened pristine incident here in srilanka. Though our forbears know little about sea floods as a bitter past remembrances, the present posterity didn’t know, even hear about this such an incredible occasion on this earth.

On that day around 9.30 in the morning that pristine activated again with out informing to any body. Massive waves attacked in to the island devastating all the valuable things in front. Southern province and north province hit hard with “tsunami” waves. Lots of young and old locals washed away with unstoppable waves. More than 25 feet sea waves has been operated several places in the island. The people who lives by the coastal belt became refugees due to this problem. To say the least, they lost one or few members of their family. Many houses has been reduced rubble not just once on the beach but in to a mile inland as well. In Deep South of the island by the “Hambanthota” salt pan was filled with thousands of dead bodies of near by villagers pr vicinity. It looked a massive battle field with full of victims. Along the southern coastal belt can be seen just the foundation of destroyed homes, bungalows, hotels and guest houses. All the humans eyes was damp with tears after hearing the “Hikkaduwa” train crash due to this unbelievable waves. at “Pareliya” village (little away from “Hikkaduwa” towards Colombo.) train met with these wicked waves on it’s way to Galle. Passengers in more than thousands had traveled by that time with their family to celebrate “Christmas” vacation in to their native places in south. Unfortunately they had to sacrificed their lives to the sea rascal. New arrivals, monks, and young and elders were washed away in to miles away as rough waves. That damaged train is now protected at “Hikkaduwa” railway station for visitors observation. It is real souvenir of “tsunami”. Government has built a huge pillar in “Paraliya” on be half of “tsunami” victims. Victim’s members pray their lives back recently among them at that pillar.

We are much oblige to N.G.O(s) locals who distributes dry rations, linen and so forth..., and all the foreign people all over the world because of their kind donations for “tsunami” victims. We might have fallen in to troubles but for your favors. All the countries raised their big hands to stand up for srilanka “tsunami” victims. Home less people are proud owners now of new residences and other houses are being developed gradually. Actually, it is just a mysterious incident that doesn’t need to remind. But, we have to develop any how and stand up with our own feet to face the future. Hurry up, srilankans... Let’s go to our former life styles quickly.
